Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)

The RBT works under the supervision of our BCBAs to deliver ABA treatment programs for children with autism. Other duties include, but are not limited to, collecting data on client skills and behavior, helping plan therapy activities, and building rapport with client caregivers.

Responsibilities

  • Providing ABA therapy to children with autism; most individual sessions run 2 to 4 hours
  • Working with a team of RBTs under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to implement ABA therapy
  • Assisting with assessment activities for treatment plans and behavior interventions
  • Assisting with activities directly related to behavior analysis and program implementation
  • Helping plan general therapy activities
  • Other duties, such as marketing events and various projects may be requested of this position
  • Making a positive difference in the life of a child with autism and building rapport with their family and caregivers

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED

Preferred Qualifications

  • Registered Behavior Technician® (RBT®) certification
  • Spanish-speaking

Additional Notes

If you do not yet hold Registered Behavior Technician® (RBT®) certification, you will need to earn it within your first 200 hours of employment. Bright Mosaic pays for the training and the certification costs.

Physical Requirements

To successfully perform the essential functions of this role, candidates must be able to meet the following physical standards:

  • Safety & Crisis Response: Ability to perform sprinting and quick pivoting motions to respond to client elopement (running) and ensure safety.
  • Lifting & Mobility: Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Static Postures: Capability to withstand prolonged periods of sitting and standing, including extended time working at a computer.
  • Dynamic Movement: Frequent walking, bending, reaching, and transitioning between different physical positions throughout the day.
  • Stamina: Ability to sustain high levels of energy and focus during continuous client appointments lasting a minimum of 3 hours.
